The range of VPN solutions in the Contivity portfolio allows the implementation of solutions tailored to fit small, medium and
large companies. Third party wireless LAN products conforming to the IEEE 802.11 standard enable enterprises to provide anywhere data access freedom to its employees and allows the more mobile integration of notebooks and wireless VoIP phones into the
corporate communications infrastructure.
• Contivity Secure IP Services Gateway isolates the LAN from the WLAN access point
• Users roaming with wireless LAN initiate secure IPSec tunnel to Contivity
• Contivity authenticates to local data stores and allows user access if authorised
• IPSec tunnels are terminated on the Contivity and user has full wireless LAN access
Unauthorised users (ie roam into RF service area) are rejected
• Traffic sniffers monitoring packet exchanges are foiled by use of stronger encryption (eg triple DES, AES)
